I’m really happy to present you the work of .ultraviolett, the first artist that agreed to be featured on Visual Candies. Here you can find a sample of her work, a short interview and some links to .ultraviolett work.
THE INTERVIEW
Hi .ultraviolett, can you shortly introduce yourself and how/when you started photography?
My name is sarah, i’m 25 years old and i live in germany. At the moment i’m working on my final thesis – i’m studying political science. In 2004 / 2005 i started photography with a little crappy digital camera from my mum.
How would you describe your work?
Identity – Everyday life – Architecture
What are your main inspirations?
William eggleston, Nan goldin, and many, many flickr-user.
What material do you use?
I use different cameras – analogue ones and digital ones. and of course photoshop. i don’t like neither the ‘ihatedigital’ nor the ‘analogisdead’ hype. i think it doesn’t matter what instrument you use. the result matters.
If you could invite 3 photographers at a dinner who would it be and why?
I already mentioned two great photographers. i’d like to invite William Eggleston, Nan Goldin and Walker Evans because they all have (social) subjects in their photos.
What would you like to ask them?
I’d like to ask them what they think ‘postmodern photography’ is. And nan! why do you hate digital photography?
Any Flickr member whos work you really like and that you would like us to discover?”
